Michael Riedel and his nasty, disparaging questions. "Did your father help you write the music?" "Was you father bitter about being seen as antiquated?"

What I would like to see is a stage version of Topsy-Turvy based on this film, presented as a jukebox musical, with most of its music adapted from Sullivan's score.

I'd have liked to have heard more about Mary Rodgers' career and fewer well-known anecdotes about her father (of whom I am a huge fan, however). I thought it was remarkable that when asked about her father's songwriting process, she recited almost word for word what he used to say himself.

Eight shows a week sounds insanely unfair to performers. It just sounds - mean. Why should such talented humans be burdened with such a horrific work load? Shouldn’t the most gifted of us work less? Why’s it the opposite for Broadway performers? I mean I know why: greedy landlords who knocked down all but a handful of theaters. But I think, as an audience member, it needs to stop.
